Artist and wallpaper designer Tracy Kendall is well known for her distinctive and innovative wallpapers which are imbued with a strong sense of eccentricity and a purity of form. Tracy creates her wall coverings to be a part of a complete interior story, adding pattern, image, texture and depth to an overall design scheme.
Tracy’s wallpapers are predominately made by hand from start to finish. You can feel the depth of ink on the hand-screen printed papers with colors mixed by skilled artisans. When modern technology is employed, it is with a craftsman’s attitude, each machine carefully chosen for its ability to translate designs that would be impossible by hand.
Tracy graduated from Manchester Polytechnic with a BA in fine art printmaking. She has an MA in constructed textiles and worked as a technician and senior tutor in colleges and universities in Europe. She has received many accolades for her work including the 2013 Elle Decoration British Design Award for Best Pattern, and 2010 Scarlet Opus Award from Decorex. Her work can be found on permanent display at New York’s Cooper-Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Tracy Kendall is based in London, England.
