Steve Sinner is a master woodturner committed to the vessel as a means of self-expression. He concentrates on developing intricate surface decoration using silver leaf, acrylics and ink on hollow vessels turned primarily of maple, walnut or cherry.

His pieces have been shown at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, as well as three times at The Cheongju International Craft Biennele in South Korea, which awarded him a special citation in 2003. Steve's work is included in several publications, including Masters: Woodturning: Major Works by Leading Artists (2009) and Wood Art Today 2 (2010).

In creating work, Steve views the lathe as a means to create a blank canvas. The presence of order, repetition, efficiency, simplicity and quality in his sculptures are a reflection of his previous enchantment with manufacturing processes.

Steve lives and works in Bettendorf, Iowa USA.
