Kent Townsend creates bespoke furniture influenced by the Art Deco style. Inspiration from the Asian Arts, nature and the work of some of the great designers/makers of the past like Jacques-Emile Ruhlman, and Edward Barnsley can be seen in his superior craftsmanship and design.
Kent is renowned for being meticulous in his attention to materials, technique and extraordinary detailed work - forging pieces crafted to become tomorrows antiques. His work represents a unique blend of the beauty, elegance, and materials of the natural world, and the refined creative spirit of his imagination.
He has studied furniture making in various prestigious institutions around the world including the College of the Redwoods in northern California and Capellagarden in Sweden. He has received various honors including the Grand Prize/1st Place (Craftsman Challenge) and been featured in numerous publications including Woodworker West and Robb Report.
Kent lives and works in Salida, Colorado USA.
