France Goneau is an established ceramic artist renowned for using unique methods to create ceramic sculptures - combining porcelain and textile in a minimalist aesthetic.
Carefully executed all by hand - miniaturized clay elements and appropriates fabrics are combined with sewing techniques to create forms invested with both labor and femininity.
Inspired by bones, skeletal matter, corals, fossils, sand dollars, lilypads and other such organic shapes and forms found in nature - the tones offer enough contrast that further dimension is added, highlighting the details and the delicate nature of the work, A graduate of the School of Design at UQAM, France's ceramics have been shown, collected, won awards, and been covered by media all over the world.
In the spring of 2010, her tile won first prize at the Elit -Tile International Ceramic Tile Triennial.
