With her bold and brightly colored collection of wool knit stools, textile designer Claire-Anne O'Brien brings a playful sensibility to textiles. Inspired by elements of the knitted stitch, like rings and loops, O’Brien brings them to life by playing with scale and texture in her designs. The cozy knits feature exaggerated and detailed patterns stitched together by hand and machine in lambswool and sheep wool.
Originally from Ireland, O’Brien graduated from The Royal College of Art in 2010 with an MA in Constructed Textiles, and then set up her studio. In 2011, she recieved the Future Makers Award from the Crafts Council of Ireland.
Claire-Anne O’Brien lives and works in London, England.
