Brian Reid is a furniture master who specializes in custom inlay, parquetry and piercing designs.
Brian has been teaching fine furniture making for over 15 years throughout the U.S., U.K. and Australia. He is a lead instructor in the 12-week Furniture Making Intensive at the internationally acclaimed Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine, as well as a senior fellow in the Studio Fellowship Program.
In addition, Brian has taught at Penland School of Crafts, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and in the furniture programs at San Diego State University and University of Wisconsin-Madison. For two consecutive years, he taught a highly successful master class on Veneering at the Centre for Creative Industries, Adam Smith College in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland.
An honors graduate of Parnham College, Brian studied under the renowned designer Sir John Makepeace and principal Robert Ingham. He is the fifth out of only eight Americans who has attended this distinguished program.
Brian’s studio is based in Rockport, Maine.
